You have to balance your budget (cheaper the better) with her desires (bigger the better), while working under the constraints of indirect expectations of friends, family and colleagues. You would know that the problem is easy to solve if your significant other says, "Babe, just give me a normal ring and save the money for the super bowl tickets J".
